12月3日（水）。今日は「ミカンの日」です。 12月に入り、本格的に寒くなってきましたが、日本の冬に欠かせないものといえば…やっぱり「コタツ」と「ミカン」ですよね。
今回のFEEL JAPAN（ver.20）は、そんな日本の冬の原風景です。
紫乃さんは、鮮やかな「寒椿（かんつばき）」柄の着物で、温かいコタツに入ってミカンを剥いています。 甘酸っぱい香りに誘われたのか、柴犬の小豆（あずき）もコタツ布団からひょっこり顔を出していますね。
ビタミンCたっぷりのミカンを食べて、暖かくして過ごす。 これが日本人の昔ながらの風邪予防であり、至福のリラックスタイムです。

[FEEL JAPAN ver.20] Kotatsu and Mikan: The Ultimate Japanese Winter Comfort
December 3rd is “Mikan Day” (Mandarin Orange Day) in Japan. As the weather gets colder in December, there is an essential duo for Japanese winter: “Kotatsu” and “Mikan”.
A Kotatsu is a traditional low wooden table frame covered by a heavy blanket, with a heat source underneath. It’s the coziest place on earth!
In today’s illustration (ver.20), Shino is wearing a Kimono with a “Kantsubaki” (Winter Camellia) pattern. She is peeling a sweet and juicy Mikan at the warm Kotatsu. Azuki, her Shiba Inu, is also peeking out from under the quilt, perhaps lured by the citrus scent.
Eating Vitamin C-rich Mikan while staying warm under the Kotatsu is the traditional Japanese way to prevent colds and relax. We hope you have a warm and cozy winter!
