12月7日は二十四節気のひとつ「大雪（たいせつ）」です。 山々は雪に覆われ、平野部でも本格的に冬が到来する頃とされています。
今日のFEEL JAPAN（v24）は、そんな冬の庭の風物詩を描きました。 **「雪吊り（ゆきづり）」**です。
湿った重い雪から、松などの庭木の枝が折れないように、縄で円錐形に枝を吊り上げる伝統的な技法です。 職人さんが一つ一つ縄を張ったその姿は、まるで冬の庭に現れた幾何学的なアートのよう。
紫乃さんと小豆も、お揃いの寒椿の着物に身を包み、この美しい冬支度に見入っています。 ピンと張られた縄に、白い雪が積もる様子もまた風流ですね。
寒さは厳しくなりますが、その中に美しさを見つけるのも日本の冬の楽しみ方かもしれません。
Today, December 7th, marks the beginning of “Daisetsu” (Major Snow) in the 24 solar terms. It signals the start of the heavy snow season and true winter cold.
In today’s illustration (v24), Shino and Azuki are admiring a “Yukizuri” (Snow Hanging) in a Japanese garden. Yukizuri is a traditional technique where ropes are attached in a conical shape to pine trees to prevent their branches from breaking under the weight of heavy snow.
It looks like a geometric art piece created by gardeners. Shino and Azuki, dressed warmly in matching Winter Camellia Kimonos, are enjoying this serene winter scenery.
